Davetta Niemi- Assistant Principal
I am thrilled to join the Matt Elementary community this year in my new role as Assistant Principal. With 31 years in education, I remain as passionate as ever about supporting students, teachers, and families and helping every child reach his/her full potential.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching for ten years in Arkansas and eight years in Texas, serving students in both general and special education settings. For the past twelve years, I have proudly served at Whitlow Elementary as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant administrator.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading from Harding University. I later completed a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Piedmont University, along with my Tier I Leadership Certification.
A lifelong love of learning and a genuine desire to help others continue to inspire my work each day. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three children, and four grandchildren. I also love reading, cooking, hiking, and traveling.
I am honored to become part of the Matt Elementary family and excited to begin this new chapter. I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families as we work together to make this a year filled with growth, success, and meaningful connections.
