At Matt Elementary, our SAIL expectations guide how we learn, grow, and treat one another every day. SAIL stands for Sail Safely, Act Responsibly, Inspire Others, and Lead Respectfully. These shared expectations help create a positive, supportive classroom environment where all students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to do their best.

SAIL Expectations

S – Sail Safely

• Keep hands and feet to self.
• Follow classroom rules and procedures.

A – Act Responsibly

• Complete our work and participate.
• Be prepared; keep desks, cubbies, and the classroom clean.
• Come to school and be on time.

I – Inspire Others

• Be friendly and show appreciation.
• Work together to solve problems and encourage or help others.

L – Lead Respectfully

• Be honest and lead by example.
• Be cooperative and take care of school property and materials.
